We got up and we needed breakfast so daddy and I went on an explore to go find some pastries. We got there and brought some yummy food and when we got home we sat down for breakfast. We had brought two coconut macaroons and I said they were for me and William; Mummy took my macaroon so I asked for it back.

Next we went out and we went on our way to the castle and in the castle we saw lots of things. It was very pretty. We saw lots of peacocks and the grounds were very clean.

I had a great idea to reserve a table at the restaurant so we carried on exploring the castle. When we got to the restaurant, we sat down for lunch outside. I had penne pasta with pesto and William had a burger. Mummy had a Caesar salad and daddy had a club sandwich. It was very yummy however my pasta came with crushed pine nuts on top rather than cheese which was a bit odd.

In the afternoon we wandered around the Main shopping area in Lisbon, looked at some fountains and some plaza; eventually ending up down by the seafront in a huge Main square

After a stroll up and down the seafront, we decided it was time for another drink and went to a restaurant marketed as a beer museum. Which seemed a cunning idea, especially as they had some nice music playing and it was a good atmosphere.

Naturally we spent an enormous amount of money on ham, cheese, wine, and beer that was completely unnecessary but very tasty.

In the evening, we headed back to the apartment relaxed and watched a bit of TV

Packing until 1am and then up at 4:45am isn’t the best start to a day! Taxi turned up on time thankfully and whisked us away to T2, where, after a limited amount of airport nonsense we discovered, to our horror, that T2 didn’t have a Wetherspoon! Breakfast therefore was ok but too pricy for my liking

Following an uneventful plane ride we discovered two things, firstly it turns out that Portugal is the same time zone as the UK, secondly, their passport control is very slow!

With bags now it tow, we negotiated the metro to our first stop to drop off the cases at a random left luggage place, grab some food on route, and eventually arrived at the key destination, Lisbon Aquarium.

One of the best in the world we understood, and although it was very good it did it predominantly centre around one massive tank which after a while, did start to get a bit tedious.

There was some amazing fish though including Manta rays, sharks, tuna and hundreds of other small varieties, plus otters which were really cool

Leaving the aquarium it was just a quick Uber to the apartment, which is nice but slightly an odd layout (two front doors, only one bathroom accessed via Williams bedroom, and three doors to Rebecca’s room!) and we’re headed out for dinner.

Seemed a mission to work out what to order, tired kids, missing items in the menu, fruit flies buzzing around, and lots of bones in the fish when it turned up; turned what could have been a pleasant meal into a bit of a chore. Saying that, Li did have a great paella, so all was not lost
