Disneyland

Didn’t quite know what to expect from today given the thousands of expected kids and massive queues, but actually was very pleased in the end.

Started off heading to Disney via the train which is a new line specifically to get to the resort, including Mickey mouse shaped windows!. Met Shirley & Wai plus kids at the entrance and headed in to the park. Started off a bit disorganized as it’s just so big but soon started to get a bit of a plan together and went on a couple of small rides with Rebecca then had some lunch

Bumped into Li’s sister at lunch and we all headed of including kids as well. Went on a couple on big rides with Gawin and Ki-Yan and that was good fun. Li’s sister took Rebecca on a couple of rides as well then we started to get a bit of momentum behind the rides. A few more under our belts including a river ride that Rebecca enjoyed and we grabbed some food before the street parade.

Parade down the main street was very good with loads of music and dancers all covered in lights.  We had some more food then rushed out for the fireworks which Rebecca really enjoyed. Home and really shattered, a very long days when you’re carrying loads of bags and small children but very good fun, much better than anticipated

Star Ferry

The day started as they normally do for me after a flight, staring at the ceiling at 3 am, with no sign of getting back to sleep at all. Only difference is now I have a 4 year old next to me also doing the same and very confused about the whole thing

Up and out and after introducing Rebecca to the idea of noodles for breakfast we end up on the Star Ferry to Wan Chai to get a good view of the harbour. Managed to get a tram into our travels as well then had a good lunch and some more walking around before heading back to ferry changed for the evening dinner with family. Seem to be spending a fortune so far and also can’t find a wireless card Yip put into our Wi-Fi gadget which is quite a pain. Other than that all good.

Dinner was the typical 15 courses of goose, lobster, duck, pork, chicken, fish and everything else you can think of. Got to love the selection of food here. William seems to have settled down which is quite good and is getting enough sleep, Rebecca is struggling a bit but in general is doing ok particularly given the pile of sweets and money bags from all these random relatives that she’s never met before.

Final drink in the bar, propositioned by a number of prostitutes, and we’re back to the hotel. Tomorrow, Disney!

Arriving in Hong Kong

With Rebecca just coming out of chicken pox and William with his foot & mouth, hopes for a nice peaceful flight had gone already. Add i it happens it wasn’t as bad as it could have been. Rebecca as we now expect was excellent just sitting watching the tv onboard, hours of Peppa Pig can’t be a bad thing, and William thankfully didn’t have a complete meltdown as he had been having for the past 2 weeks So, in fact William’s first flight was not to bad at all, obviously helped by the beer, wine and free flowing whisky

The exit from the airport was good as Rebecca got to use her Trunkie for the first time properly and it worked a treat to get het through the airport quickly, picking up lots of nice comments and glances on the way for the locals

The anticipated horrid underground travel lived up to my expectations when you have two kids, three suitcases, hand luggage plus a load of other bits. However we got through this eventually found our hotel and after a quick Thai meal were all in bed by 10pm, shattered!
